Milestone Mile event. Pictured: U.S runner Rob Myers shows off his $3000 smile, as the large appreciative crowd applaud his efforts in winning the inaugural Milestone Mile event along Jackson Street on March 10. The eight race programme took place in a brisk southerly, with junior, senior and more leisurely runners relishing the opportunity to run in front of a vocal local turnout. Original drawcard Nick Willis, who withdrew from the main event owing to a hip injury, was nonetheless present throughout the event, making himself available to chat and sign autographs with locals.
